Finished the Firefly Cloak.

Life and time made it so that for the most part I read it in my truck on my breaks. I finished it here, at my farm table.

There were a few times, in the park... in the truck... that I came close to tears. She's an awesome writer.

But the true 'meat' came during and after the description of geometry. I hated geometry, and she made me wonder, why? I had a Spirograph. I loved it but I never knew what to do with it. Later in life, in another manner, my Happy Homo taught me (kind of) that way of seeing.

There was a line that touched my growing up. It had to do with Lil's saying she took care of her child's body, but not her heart.

My mother came close to saying that the last time we spent time together. But my mother was lost, where Lil wasn't really... and so it made me understand what a gift the little she (my mother) held out was....

There's an odd addendum (?) at the end that Reynold's includes. At first, it made me think of Sammy, a child in my life that was killed by a 'trash truck'. If you look through the Dreamtime history, the story is there. So, I was already moved.

But then, I saw the date. June 7. My birthday.

Serendipity personified.

Thank you.
